Motor vehicle collisions can be very dangerous. Such accidents can cause great harm to the individuals involved. Tragically, such accidents can sometimes even result in an individual's death. This can be seen in a fatal car accident that occurred last week in Louisiana.

The accident happened last Saturday in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. Reportedly, that afternoon, a 72-year-old man was driving a pickup truck in the eastbound lane of LA 16. Allegedly, the man's pickup truck then rear-ended a car that was stopped in this lane. Reportedly, the car was stopped in the lane because it was waiting to make a left turn. The car was being driven by a 22-year-old woman.

According to the nola.com article which reported this story, the 22-year-old woman was killed in this motor vehicle accident. The crash also reportedly resulted in the 72-year-old man suffering minor injuries. He reportedly was taken to a hospital after the crash occurred.

According to authorities, the 72-year-old man will face criminal charges in connection to this motor vehicle accident, including charges of careless operation and negligent homicide.

As this crash illustrates, motor vehicle collisions can sometimes result in a fatality.

Thus, it is very important for motorists to do everything they reasonably can to prevent motor vehicle collisions. This includes making sure to be attentive when driving. It also includes practicing safe and careful driving when out on the roads.

One hopes that motor vehicle drivers in Louisiana will do what they can to help keep the state's roads safe.
