Collisions between large trucks and other motor vehicles can result in the drivers and passengers involved suffering serious injuries. Sadly, truck accidents can sometimes even result in fatalities.

Recently, a truck accident occurred in Louisiana which resulted in two deaths.

The accident occurred last Friday in Kentwood, Louisiana. Reportedly, that evening, a 50-year-old man was driving a big rig truck east along LA 38. Allegedly, the man then failed to immediately realize that a car that was in front of him had stopped in order to make a left turn. Reportedly, this car was being driven by a 66-year-old woman and had a 70-year-old woman, a 73-year-old woman and a 74-year-old woman as passengers.

Allegedly, when the 50-year-old man finally realized that the car in front of him had stopped, he swerved his big rig truck to the left to try to avoid hitting the car. Allegedly, at that same time, the car began its left turn and the big rig truck hit the car.

According to the WWL-TV article which reported this story, the 73-year-old woman and the 74-year-old woman died as a result of this motor vehicle accident. The crash also reportedly resulted in the 66-year-old woman and the 70-year-old woman suffering serious injuries.

The 50-year-old man reportedly faces charges of negligent injury and negligent homicide in connection to this motor vehicle accident.

As this motor vehicle accident illustrates, truck accidents can sometimes have deadly results.

Thus, it is very important for truck drivers to do everything they reasonably can to prevent truck accidents. This includes practicing attentive driving when behind the wheel. It also includes obeying all relevant traffic laws when driving.
