Motorcycle accidents can result in motorcyclists suffering serious injuries. Such accidents can sometimes even result in a motorcyclist's death. Thus, motorcycle accidents can be a very harmful type of motor vehicle accident.

Last week, a motorcycle accident occurred in Louisiana which resulted in a man's death.

The accident occurred last Saturday in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. Reportedly, that afternoon, a 35-year-old man from New Iberia, Louisiana was riding a motorcycle along U.S. 167. Allegedly, a car that was on an intersecting street then failed to obey a stop sign and went into the motorcycle's path. Reportedly, the 35-year-old man fell from his motorcycle while trying to avoid colliding with this car. According to authorities, the 35-year-old man was then hit by the car.

The 35-year-old man died as a result of this motor vehicle accident.

The driver of the above-mentioned car, a 43-year-old woman, has been accused of having been impaired by alcohol at the time of this motor vehicle accident. Police reportedly have arrested the woman in connection to the accident. The woman reportedly faces charges of open container, disregarding a stop sign and vehicular homicide.

As this tragic incident illustrates, motorcycle accidents can sometimes result in a fatality.

Thus, it is very important for motor vehicle drivers to do everything they reasonably can to prevent motorcycle accidents. This includes obeying all applicable traffic laws (including those regarding stop signs) and avoiding engaging in reckless conduct when out on the roads. It also includes making sure to watch for motorcycles when driving.
